President - Oxford Advertising and Marketing Society

Dionysios founded his own student theatre and opera company, Theatron Novum, with which he staged productions ranging from a short play at Burton Taylor Studio to the first student opera in 15 years at the Oxford Playhouse, with a company of 60 actors, singers, dancers and acrobats, gaining first hand experience of how to successfully launch and expand a student initiative.
He worked for the The Student Consultancy in two projects, advising Oxfam and Jaguar Land Rover. After familiarising himself with the student business scene, Dionysios realised that although there is a great number of university societies for every aspect of business, there wasn’t a society for students interested in marketing and any of its related disciplines, with the old student advertising society having ceased its operation. Therefore Dionysios decided to launch the Oxford Advertising and Marketing Society (OxAdSoc).
Launching OxAdSoc involved recruiting a diverse team of people, creating new branding, logos, website and social media strategy, as well as forging partnerships with institutions and companies. The society aims, through events and workshops, to connect students with professionals and support the development and promotion of careers in the creative industries, advertising, marketing, branding, communications and PR. Dionysios also came up with the ideas for The Agency and AdSpace, two educational projects the first of which is operated is run by the Careers Service, aiming to offer students hands on experience and skill development in advertising and marketing.
OxAdSoc was accepted as an official Oxford University club and its Senior Member is Miles Young, previously the global chairman and CEO of the international advertising and marketing agency Ogilvy & Mather.
Founding the society and leading the committee in preparation for its launch refined Dionysios’ marketing and leadership skills, and running the society as the president further developed his expertise and offered a deeper knowledge of the marketing and advertising industries.
